About Turkey
Turkey lies on the ruins of many civilizations including Hittites,
Trojans, Greeks, Romans, Byzantine Empire, Seljuks and Ottomans. You
can feel this wealth of history everywhere you go in Turkey. Turks
have a great cuisine, infamous baths, rich traditions associated
with tea and coffee, evil eye pendants, high quality towels and
bathrobes, traditional rugs, whirling dervishes, nargile (Turkish
water pipe) and of course Turkish delight. You can get engaged in a
variety of activities in Turkey including river rafting, skiing,
scuba diving, cruising and hot air ballooning. You can travel
thousands of years back in time at the historical sites, or enjoy
the works of nature.
About Fethiye
The popular resort Fethiye, 135 km southeast of Marmaris, boasts
an important marina at the head of a beautiful bay strewn with
islands. A hill crowned by the ruins of the crusader fortress built
by the Knights of Rhodes overlooks the little port. Above the town,
(called Telmessos in antiquity), numerous Lycian rock tombs, reproducing
the facades of ancient buildings, were cut into the cliff face. The
Tomb of Amyntas, which probably dates from the fourth century B.C.
is the most remarkable. Swimmers head for the popular Calis Beach,
four kilometers west of town, or to Sovalye Island, opposite the
harbor, which blazes with flowers in the spring.
About Ölüdeniz (Oludeniz)
Oludeniz where the western most point of the Taurus Mountains dip
into the sea, to form sandy bays and coves...where sunlight reflects
up of the pebbled seabed to turn the Med to turquoise...Where
fertile plains wedge themselves between the limestone heights to
create Lycia's market garden. Where cedared mountain plateaus
collect their strenght to drop with apple, quince and pear...Set
into such a landscape lies the resort of Oludeniz, with it's famous
glistening Oludeniz beach and Oludeniz Blue Lagoon. Oludeniz has one
of the best beaches in the Med, perfect for sun worshippers and has
to be seen to be believed. |
